Evaluation...
Throughout the project i felt i have individually learnt so much and i am very pleased. I am pleased with our final product and i am proud to say i was appart of it and edited it. From knowing nothing about final cut pro or editing, to now being confident and comfortable to use the soft wear to edit a short film i couldn't be happier. I have developed new skills on the soft wear and focused on expanding my knowledge on editing techniques.
Personally i have learnt new skills aswell as editing related such as working under pressure with new people, time scheduling, new research skills and dedication. I will now be prepared for my next project carrying across everything i have learnt. It has been hard work but have loved every minute of it.

To get more interaction within our entertainment and news sections we decided it would look professional and different if we added in video clips and a news strip to the studios. In the News room video we managed to get a video i found playing in the
TV next to me, the presenter and also a news strip running across the
bottom of the screen that we found on the mac's computer tools.
And this was the virtual studio we used...Unfortunetly we didn't get a screen shot of us working on this section.
Here is the music video i found to go into the News TV. It had rioting and world affairs shown and i thought went perfect with the subject matter we were discussing- Rioting for the rise in tution fees for September 2012...

This image is of Bradley in the entertainment section. As you can see we have edited it so there is no green left and now we are trying to get him the correct size. It was hard to get consistancy throughout the clips so that all the presenters and models were the same size and shape. As his trousers were such a similar colour to the green screen we found that his legs were almost transparent at times resulting in us tidiously using chromer key to fix the problem.
Editing suite
After our first day in the editing suite, capturing and logging we decided to focus on finalising a firm structure for our show. This would mean deleting clips and sections we didn't need or want. Originally in our structure we had a chat show, celebrity guest and film debate but due to time limitation we had to cut these out of our filming schedule. When putting the stucture together we realised it didn't really work as well as we thought leading in us moving sections around on the timeline on Final cut. This was a hassle and a pain moving things around as alot of things went out of sync. Originally we had an introduction to the Mr Fit section but
unexpectedly lost it resulting in us inserting a introduction page to it.
For our entertainment and cooking section. We cut the clips to the length that was suitable which was around minute for the cooking and 10 seconds for the music clips. The weather was a problem for us and we were constantly debating removing it or keeping it, due to the fact it was too long. However it was the shortest clip we could find without any logo's from TV channels and in the end kept it at around 40/50 seconds after editing it which was hard from the speed of the ladies voice. I am pleased we kept it as i feel it really helped shape the Morning Show.
As my main role was editing the programme i felt a lot of pressure as i was un experienced with using final cut pro, as were all of us. By reading books, taking notes from teachers and Youtube tutorials we were able to work out how to use all of the tools on the programme. As the programme developed i felt that i have developed with it improving my knowledge on how to use the programme. The editing proccess was a tidious one which was very time consuming, furstrating and rewarding at the same time. It was a shame that some members of the group didn't apprecitate the time and effort me and Raggy were putting into the editing.
The hardest part of the editing process i found was cutting around the actors and transferring them into the virtual studios. What we didn't think about in advanced was when filming we got myself and Bradley to stand on a sticky note to show were centre was. Although this was helpful at the time it proved to be a nightmare to get rid of on screen when editing and will keep this in mind for future.
For me the fashion section was the hardest section to edit. Oringinally we had decided that we were just going to have the model walk out and there be a voice over by the presenter explaining the outfit. However we decided against this and added in the presenter.

Re- shooting
After watching all of the footage we had filmed for the interviews we came to a desicion that we were going to have to re-shoot all of the interviews. This was due to the fact we were unprepared for it and the lighting and sound was very poor. We didn't take into consideration our location for the shoot and how it would sound and look afterwards. The interviews was the first thing we had done for the project where we went out on our first day to start filming. The interviews were with current Kingston University students discussing the rise in fees for next year and how it is going to effect peoples educational future. We had 5 takes with different students but none were good enough quality. The interview was the easiest part to add into our timeline when editing so left it to one of the last things to look at. This led us into last minute filming an interview on campus. The interview turned out perfect with light and sound as we had learnt from our mistakes and ended up being in our final project.
Main Filming shots...
Once we had the bulk of the show filmed we watched back the footage to realise we only have one face on master shot. This worried us at first as it didn't show vareity of camera shots from a selection of angles and distances but it actually turned out well. As our show is a morning show we wanted the presenters to interact with the viewers as if it was a live show so the one head on middle shot we had worked out really well. I am glad we used the one shot as i felt it gave the show more sophistication and more mature feel than switching from differnet angles or views as this wouldn't normal occur in a morning show.

Mr. Fit!!
Mr. Fit was intially my idea that i thought would be an excellent section within the Morning Show. It was an element of the show that we discussed in pre-production and we all agreed it would be a really fun and exciting section that would reach our target audience. I thought it would be a great development to the fashion show section as they both linked very well. I asmued that alot of the target audience will take pride in what they look like this summer resulting in them following the latest trends and summer shape up tip!
My original idea was inspired from GMTV's Mr. Motivator... I wanted it to be this fun and enthusiastic however we couldn't find someone who was willing to do it. We had a few options but had pulled out last minute, this resulted in Raggy filming it from her home with two personal intructors she knew. The end result wasn't as fun and vibrant as Mr. Motivator but they did a fantasic job of doing the Mr. Fit summer shape up. As there was also another presenter presenting this section i felt that it gave the show more variety and allowed us to work with a new personality.

These video clips on Final cut pro 7 tutorials helped me grasp the idea of editing even more, from taking notes from Neill's and Matta's tutorials aswell as researching information from books I now feel very confident and comfortable on creating and editing a short programme. I have developed by using techniques such as chromer key, rendering, timeline, soundcut pro and many more.

Virtual Studios!
This is a possible News studio. I don't like this studio compared to the rest as I think it is a bit to mature and old for our target audidence and we need something a bit more bright and relaxed.
Possible Entertainment section studio
Possibly entertainment section studio
We are favouring this studio for our News section as we will be able to show a variety of different techniques by having me sitting down at the desk. I think it will also look really effective and help me with my editing skills if we could get a video or images in the tv whilst the news is being presented.
Here are a number of virtual studios we have found for possible studios for our show to be set in. We are looking for one studio for our fashion section, one studio for our News sections and one studio for the Entertainment sections. The rest of our sections such as the cooking and Mr. Fit are going to be filmed on location.

We have decided that this studio is going to be for our fashion section. It is colourful and vibrant with a young feel to it. It reminds me of the T4 show studio and think it would really suit The Morning Show!

Indtroduction script
This is the script for the introduction for me and Bradley, it is for the beginning of the show so has to be short, informative and too the point.
News music clip
First day filming & First day presenting!!
For our first day of filming on Friday 30th March we had a slot booked from 9am till the afternoon where we would be filming all of the green screen sections, which was the main bulk of our show. We had put together a planned structure which helped the shooting day run smoothly with presenters, models and everyone there. I was rather nervous to get in front of the camera and deliver the scripts I had learnt but was exciting at the same time. I felt I dealt with it professionally and had alot of fun being on the other side of the camera for a change. Bradley did a fantastic job as presenter also where he learnt all of the script fast and well.
The fashion section- The two models both had an evening and day outfit where we set it so they walked on from the side, turned and walked forwards, we made them walk down the green screen strip so that when editing we could make them look as if they were walking down a catwalk. We made sure we did the walking a couple of times of each model and the presenters so we had choice when in the editing suite. We had a few problems with the green screen strip for each of us to walk on as it was very slippy and had to do a few takes. Appart from that everything went very smoothly.
Our next section to film was the entertainment section which also went really well! Again we split the script into two so it was equal between myself and Bradley. I focused on the film section where I introduced new film releases and Bradley focused on presenting the music and festival line-ups. Because we were so tight with time and the entertainment clip was only 1minute long we had to cut out sections from the film part as it had to many new releases. We ended up cutting Titanic and The Lucky One. If we had kept these in I think it would of gone off track and over time. I suggested keeping Beauty and the Beast 3D re-release in to give it some variety.
Personally I found the entertainment section the hardest to learn and deliver out of them all.
After the entertainment and fashion we swiftly moved onto the news headlines. This for me was the easiest section and we did it in around 2/3 takes. For this section we all agreed that the news was to be delivered in a virtual news room. This meant I had to be sitting down as if on a desk. We set up a table and chair and covered it with a green sheet so it would work in post production process. This would help me alot when editing and putting me in a studio. With Neill the technicans help we adjusted the lighting on all shoots so my face was shinny and lights were focused on me.
All of the filming went very smoothly and well. By the end of the shooting we had about 4 different takes of each scene for us to have more vareity when choosing which bits to keep and cut. We were all very happy as a group with the material we produced, we watched them back and agreed on the best clips. We have three sections left to film:- the cooking, weather and the Summer Shape up with Mr.Fit...We are going to film the Mr.Fit on location, not confirmed yet. The cooking and weather we are going to get from youtube and cut down if needed. We have decided to do this to show a vareity of editing techniques for the final product.

Our cast so far!
We now have two presenters and two models...Raggy is stepping in as our model as we couldn't find anyone who could comitte to the project 100%. We also had to find a male model and at very short notice - The night before!! Panic struck as the original model pulled out as he wouldn't be able to deliver the goods 100% but Raggy was able to find a cover who was available to film with us the next day. This helped solve our situation as they were both willing to do it.

Here is the script for the entertainment update. Raggy wrote it and we all looked over it. The update is going to be around 1.30 mins depending on how fast we talk. We are going to split the script up into two sections so me and Bradley both have sections to say. Within the script it is focused on new up and coming popular summer festivals which alot of our taget audience attend.. Also new film releases are mentioned along with the Reading fesitval acts such as Paramore and Foo Fighters. Here are a few clips of new film movie trailers and music videos which as a group we have discussed are suitable to possible use in the show. The clips are rather long and it will be my job to cut them down to around 15/20 nano seconds each and will have to find 60 second tv spots for the new films.

1st draft News headlines script...
This is the first draft of the News headlines script. For this section we will be filming it in the green screen and be using a virtual news room studio which we are currently researching. Currently we are thinking about me sitting at a normal table where it will hopefully be edited to look realistic with me delivering the news from a virtual news desk. I think the script is very suitable and discusses valid points which will be effecting some of our target audience, the students next year.
Individual Roles...
To keep the group organised and for us to address our individual strengths and weaknesses we each dicussed and assigned one another to a titled role within the group for the rest of the project. Having allocated roles in the group will able us be more organised with planning on days of filming and also with the organization for the rest of the project to run smoothly.
The responsibilities:-
Producer- Raggy
Script writing, Location organiser, casting, costume/atire, equipment hire, making sure everything is on schedule
Editor- Myself
Editing all footage filmed and ripped from internet resources, making notes of best takes, ideas for developing scenes
Director- Shannen
Camera control on days of shooting, helping with editing.
Sound- Sophie
In charge of finding suitable soundtracks and music, dealing with sound levels and changes within the footage
For our show we all came to a joint desicon that it would be best if we had two presenters, one female one male. As I aspire to be TV presenter I wanted to give the presenting ago as I thought it would be a brilliant idea to see what it would really be like. I found the second presenter myself who was willing to give it ago and learn the script with me.
For the fashion section we also decided to have two models again one female and one male with both a day and night outfit each where the outfits would be budgeted for students, which is evident in the scripts.
We are still currently looking for two models.

Fashion!
This is a clip from GMTV's fashion fix by stylist Mark Heyes. With the fashion and beauty section this is the sort of thing I had in mind where a model would wear the clothes, shoes or accessories and the presenters and stylist would discuss. As our target audience will be teens to young adults and most will be students we will need to find good deals on clothing for the summer range where we could have a task of finding an outfit for a certain amount of money, making it affordable for students.
Plan for The Morning Show!
With research on breakfast time TV shows in the US and UK a lot of them seem mature and don't seem to invite the younger generation into watching them. So with our Morning Show we are looking to combine the older shows with the younger generation to create something new and vibrant!
I have constructed a plan of ideas of what think would be suitable and engaging for our audience on our Morning TV show!
* Introduction of the show by the presenters (1 boy, 1 girl)
* Fashion & Beauty- The new styles and trends for the summer, including festival atire as it's very popular subject with youngsters. I was thinking we could have people as if they were stylist showing us examples of what's good and what's not on models (e.g. Mark Heyes stylist on Lorraine)
* Popular local Live bands, singers or DJ's, who'd have a chance to perform. Followed by music gigs, events and festival lineups information, informing viewers where to purchase tickets etc.
* Cooking for £5 and under meals- This idea would show students in particular how to save money and still have a nutrious meal (If this plan was to go forward I know a Chef who is prepared to help out)
* Summer shape up!.. This would follow on from the cooking section where it would show a few fitness exercises to help get in shape for the summer, to do in the comfort of your own home!
Things to consider for The Morning Show
* Tone of speech and language used, thinking about our target audience.
* Every person shown on TMS will be scripted.
* Studio and props used- what atmosphere are we trying to foster? Bright, relaxing, comfortable, vibrant, fun?
* Presenters atire needs to be considered
* Timing. As a normal morning televsion show has around 2 hours air time we have to carefully pick and choose what works to fit into the time slot of 8-10 minutes and also what the viewers will enjoy.

Weather studio idea!!
So I found this clip of a demonstration of a virtual news room and I think the first setup looks really cool and would be such a good idea for my group to consider for maybe the weather, gigs, gossip and news sections as we'll be using the green screen for a lot of our project?! Just an idea...
